Description:
This is a minor Major7th. You may also see chord notated as m(maj7). The only application that I have come across - at least so far - is as part of the Minor Walk, where it is a passing chord. But it may also work as an extended i chord in harmonic minor and ascending melodic minor. When building the chord, you start with a normal minor chord, and then you add a major seventh on top of it. A CmM7 chord will have the notes C-Eb-G-B and an EmM7 will have the notes E-G-B-D#. ...
